Forbidden Destiny- Excerpt

I wanted to apologize for not updating the blog like I should be. This year has been an emotional one with some personal issues that stopped me from writing for a few weeks. I'm better and back. I'll be working hard to finish up the first book in the Hybrid Series; Forbidden Destiny. This is a paranormal romance series with a twist. Take a peek into Sophie's life by reading the small preview below. I hope you enjoy!!!

(Please respect the author and do not share teaser outside of this blog. This is for entertainment purposes only.)

Three days passed in a blur and Sophie was on edge. The Blackguard was due to arrive anytime during the day, which made her nervous. Time was ticking away, getting closer to the inevitable. Soon she would find herself making the journey into the Underworld and using the abilities she'd trained hard with Mason to perfect flawlessly. Today wasn't any different. Mason had her up right before sunrise and they were out the door to watch the beauty of the sun taking over the heavens, while birds dashed around graciously through the skies.
The past few days had been such a learning experience for Sophie. She learned exactly what she was capable of and learned more about the man who had, not only her heart but was connected in spirit. Surprisingly, he was a bit of a nerd under the tough outer side. He enjoyed some light reading and relaxing. Photography was his passion and he loved romance. He was a hopeless romantic. Three days of being alone with him, he had managed to fully win Sophie's heart and vowed to do whatever he had to while she was gone to change the laws of the land. They were meant to be together and he was destined to change anything that stopped it.
"What's on your mind?" Mason asked since Sophie was missing each power hit he knew she easily could have avoided.
"I'm an anxious mess," she replied.
"What else is new?" Mason joked.
"Hey, I may be a mess, but I'm a hot mess. Plus, you would be too if, in a matter of a few days, you'd literally be going through hell." Sophie rebutted.
"True. Wanna sit? Take a break?" Mason asked, motioning toward the large rock Sophie came to know well.
"Sure."
They walked hand in hand over to the rock and sat down. Nothing felt as good as being with Mason and knowing he had her back. "I seriously have no idea why I volunteered to do this. I mean, I do, but I don't. My gram is there, waiting. However, I have no idea what I may face and I'm not looking forward to the overly hot and nasty environment. The stench is enough," Sophie rambled.
"Shhh, let's not focus on that. You're doing what you are meant to do Sophie. Take pride in that. There are people out there who are fighting to find out their true purpose. Yours found you, not the other way around." Mason said.
After taking a deep breath and exhaling, "I know but not everyone is fighting Lucifer in Hell," she finished looking off in the distance.
"I can't tell you how to do this. Nor can I tell ya how to succeed, but what I can say is that I'm proud of you for trying. It kills me knowing you'll be doing this without me."
"It's what I was born to do...right?" Sophie asked, giving an unsure, yet questioning looks toward Mason.
"It's pretty messed up that you're in this position, but I think it's admirable for you to take a stand and do what needs to be done. Fear has nothing on you."
"Riighhhtt!" Sophie rolled her eyes.
"Let's get back to practice. Don't wanna waste what time we have left. The Blackguard should be there by the time we get back." Mason said, standing up.

There you go. I hope you've enjoyed this small piece. I'll be working hard to finish up the ending so it can move on to the next stages of publication and be on your Kindle or in your hands sooner. Have a wonderful day.
